Professional, integrated approach
With Lean Me Pro we set out to create the first professional level diet and fitness tracking application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. To back that up, we partnered with an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, leveraging his 18 years of experience to help us better understand the challenges of counting Calories and make Lean Me Pro as powerful and intuitive as possible.
You might find 80% of the functionality in Lean Me by purchasing a handful of other applications, but even then you would lack the power and efficiency of having those tools so tightly integrated together. For example, a change in skin fold thickness results in ➡ a change in body fat percentage which automatically ➡ changes lean body mass estimate ➡ changes metabolism estimate ➡ changes daily energy needs ➡ changes remaining energy budget for the day.
“As a personal trainer, I have never seen a truly determined client fail to get lean. But becoming our own personal ‘Lean Me’ takes hard work – hard work we don’t want wasted on inefficiency.” When success becomes the only option we accept, we get the best tools for the job, and we get busy.

Your diet, your way
The Atkins Diet, The Zone Diet, The Southbeach Diet, VLCD, BFFM, zig-zagging… there are so many approaches to dieting. And how often are we bombarded with those misleading “Lose 30 pounds in 30 days” advertisements? Fads will come and go, but thanks to the laws of physics the fact remains that every proven diet will always have one thing in common – balancing energy input versus expenditure.
Getting fit is a personal journey, and one size does not fit all. Lean Me is not about touting any particular diet, but giving you the ultimate in power and flexibility, letting you customize how you use it to suit whatever diet works for you. Metric or US Standard? Calories or Joules? You decide. Prefer a fixed energy target rather than one that adapts to your actual exercise levels? You can do that. Are you a night owl who would prefer that tomorrow begins at 4am rather than midnight? You can do that too.
From simple settings to creating custom foods with unlimited serving sizes, you can mold Lean Me to work your way. Moreover, we are committed to the belief that it is not enough for Lean Me to be the best available; it should be the best possible. So don’t hesitate to send us suggestions. We keep a scored log of all feedback ever received – nothing is ever lost, forgotten, or ignored. By synthesizing the best ideas from around the world, we all win.
Small details, big difference
Logging every food you eat and every exercise you perform is extremely effective for getting fit, but hasn’t always been so convenient. The iPhone helps by putting powerful database driven software like Lean Me Pro right in the palm of your hand. And Lean Me takes convenience a step further – utilizing algorithms that learn and adapt to your personal usage over time in order to minimize screen taps.
Open the Foods tab and your recently eaten foods appear automatically. Select a food to log and Lean Me autofills the log with the current date, your most recently logged meal type, and your most recently recorded serving size and quantity for that food. You might also be given other suggested foods to log based on your previous diet logs. Likewise, the Activities tab automatically displays your recently performed exercises. Select an activity and Lean Me autofills the log with the current date and most recent duration logged for that activity, simultaneously calculating the energy burned using your current body weight, pulled directly from the body weight log in the Details tab.
The hundreds of such convenience optimizations throughout Lean Me are generally minor and go unnoticed on their own, but the sum result is clear, and most visible in the mirror after months of consistent logging.
